Pricing/Point of Sale Data Administrator

FOOD FRONT COOPERATIVE GROCERY

Purpose: To maintain accurate price and cost maintenance through the point of sale system to meet pricing and margin goals and to maintain accurate signage. 

Status: Nonexempt position reporting to Point of Sale (POS)/Pricing Manager.

Weekly Schedule: Full-time position. Weekend and evening work may be required. Working in both store locations is required.

Principle Responsibilities:

1. Provides outstanding customer service to store patrons according to customer service guidelines.
2. Data entry of costs, suppliers, new items, promotional batches, and price changes following established data and margin guidelines.
3. Implements price changes and sales batches and changes price tags and signs as assigned by POS Manager.
4. Assists staff and Buyers with store signage.
5. Prepares POS reports for Buyers and Department Managers as assigned by the POS Manager.
6. Consistently complies with all safety standards.
7. Performs other assigned tasks as requested.
8. Additional responsibilities may include desktop support including troubleshooting Mircosoft product suite. 

Education/Experience:
No formal education is required, but relevant experience and/or education is necessary to use required computer programs. Position currently utilizes the Catapult POS system as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook and requires strong Excel skills.Position requires prior experience and knowledge of retail pricing and margins. Experience in similar retail position or position requiring data entry and computer use is highly preferred.

Demands/Complexity:
Job involves a low level of complexity. Work situations are regular and reoccurring and incumbent receives moderate supervision. Clerks operate from specific and definite directions and instructions. Work is checked by manager. Errors may affect store customer satisfaction and margins as a result of pricing errors or missing/inaccurate signage. 

Contacts with Others:
Contacts are generally made inside the store with buyers, department managers, and grocery and assistant grocery managers and customers. They seldom involve confidential or sensitive matters.

Specific Job Skills:
Mental:
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required. Incumbent must utilize multi-tasking, teamwork, customer service, and problem analysis skills on a frequent to continual basis. Occasional training is also required. Incumbent must read, speak, write, and understand English. H/she must be able to perform math to calculate sale prices/margin. Position requires independent judgment and action within prescribed policies and procedures. 

Physical:
Frequent physical activities are standing, walking, fingering, talking, reaching, repetitive wrist motion, kneeling, reaching, sitting, grasping, hearing, and handling. Incumbent also bends, climbs, and stoops. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and safely. May work over 40 hours per week.

Work Environment:
May spend up to 9 hours per day at a computer terminal. 

Job Conditions:
The position may require some overtime, weekends, on-call status, and heavy lifting.
